This article analyzes the potential of AI-powered language learning applications, particularly ChatGPT and Duolingo, in developing pragmatic competence. Through AI technologies, learners can effectively build dialogic speech skills and enhance their ability to communicate within social contexts. These tools provide interactive and contextual learning experiences, helping language learners adapt to real-life situations. The study highlights the role and significance of AI-based applications in fostering pragmatic aspects of language learning and reflects on the future opportunities of these technologies.
