COGNITIVE AND PSYCHOLINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF CHARACTER COMMUNICATION IN ENGLISH NOVELS

This article analyzes the cognitive and psycholinguistic features of communication between characters in English novels. The study highlights the interrelation between thought, language, and emotional reactions during the communication process. It also explores the internal structure of characters’ speech, speech acts, cognitive strategies, and psychological motives as reflected in literary interpretation. The analyses based on English realist and modernist novels demonstrate that communicative behavior is closely connected with individual psychology, social environment, and cultural values.
