BILINGUAL TERMINOLOGY MANAGEMENT: THE CASE OF ENGLISH-UZBEK MEDICAL TERMS

This article examines the management of bilingual terminology in the context of English-Uzbek medical terms. The study explores issues of terminological equivalence, stability, and translation challenges from both linguistic and practical perspectives. A corpus-based approach was employed to extract and analyze key medical terms from specialized dictionaries and authentic medical texts. The research evaluates the semantic accuracy and usage frequency of Uzbek equivalents and highlights the inconsistencies that arise in medical translations. The paper also emphasizes the importance of developing a bilingual terminology management system to ensure precision and consistency in medical communication. Furthermore, the role of modern terminological standards and digital terminology databases in improving translation quality is discussed. The study concludes that effective bilingual terminology management is essential for accurate knowledge transfer in medical and healthcare contexts.
