This article explores the theoretical foundations of riddles and aphorisms, highlighting their linguistic, cultural, and cognitive dimensions. Riddles, as a form of oral folklore, encapsulate metaphorical thinking, wordplay, and cultural symbolism, while aphorisms convey concise philosophical or moral insights rooted in collective wisdom. The study examines the structural features, communicative functions, and didactic values of these forms of expression. Attention is also given to their role in language development, critical thinking, and identity construction in both traditional and modern contexts.
