Abstract

The author studied the quality of life of patients with cicatricial microstomies before and after plastic surgery and used the WHO Short Questionnaire for Assessing the Quality of Life (WHOQOL-BREF). The results were studied in 94 patients of the control group and in 95 patients in the main group who were treated in the department of maxillofacial surgery of MMCAV. Thus, an analysis of the quality of life of patients with cicatricial microstomies after surgical treatment showed that the introduction of the plastic surgery method made it possible to improve the assessment of the socio-physical sphere of health from 66.5±3.32 to 83.1±4.12 points (P<0.0012).
