Abstract

This paper explores innovative strategies in the teaching of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in higher education. ESP plays a crucial role in equipping students with language skills tailored to their academic disciplines and professional careers. The paper discusses the characteristics of ESP, the importance of needs analysis, curriculum development, and the integration of authentic materials and digital tools. Special attention is given to discipline-specific instruction, teacher qualifications, and learner autonomy. The paper also includes case studies and practical examples to highlight how ESP instruction can be optimized for various professional fields such as business, medicine, and engineering.
