Abstract

This review article presents current data on the nutritional status of industrial workers, common dietary imbalances, and their impact on occupational health and work capacity. It analyzes widespread deficiencies in essential nutrients and the imbalance of macro- and micronutrients frequently observed among individuals engaged in physically demanding or hazardous labor. Most industrial workers’ diets do not meet physiological requirements for protein, B vitamins, iron, calcium, and antioxidants. Such nutritional shortcomings reduce the body’s resistance to occupational hazards, contribute to chronic fatigue, metabolic disorders, and increase susceptibility to occupational diseases. Particular attention is given to the role of dietary patterns, caloric intake, and eating behaviors in maintaining productivity. The article emphasizes the importance of systematic hygienic evaluation of workers’ nutrition at industrial enterprises and the implementation of nutritional correction and prevention programs as part of occupational health strategies.
