Abstract

This article explores the cultural values and social norms reflected in the proverbs of Uzbek and English languages, focusing on their relevance to neighborhood culture. By comparing and analyzing the linguistic and cultural nuances embedded in these proverbs, the study aims to reveal how language serves as a mirror of societal attitudes and interactions. Data were collected from written sources, interviews, and focus groups, analyzed using a qualitative methodology. The findings highlight striking similarities and differences in how Uzbek and English cultures conceptualize neighborhood relationships, trust, and cooperation, offering insights into intercultural understanding.
