Parenting styles profoundly influence children’s behavioral patterns and emotional health. This article reviews the main types of parenting styles—authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful—and their respective effects on child development. Drawing on psychological theories and empirical studies, it examines how different approaches to discipline, warmth, and communication shape children's self-regulation, social skills, and emotional resilience. The article also highlights cultural factors and suggests best practices for effective parenting.
