thematically in English and Uzbek languages, focusing on both theory and practice. It traces classification methods from the rise of geography as a discipline, highlighting key scholars from Humboldt to present-day Uzbek experts. English
traditions simplify terms into 15–20 thematic blocks for easy teaching, while Uzbek scholarship uses a more detailed, hierarchical approach with up to 50 categories, reflecting local needs. The article discusses the strengths and weaknesses of each method, supported by tables and examples,
and is relevant to those interested in the classification of geography.
