Abstract

This article reviews the critical role of optimal nutrition, specifically addressing micronutrient supplementation and balanced macronutrient intake, in enhancing immunological resilience and overall health outcomes for Women Living with HIV (WLWH). Using a hypothetical intervention study (n=80), we report on the positive correlation between adherence to dietary guidelines and improvements in CD4+ T-cell counts and viral load suppression. The findings underscore the necessity of integrating comprehensive nutritional counseling into standard antiretroviral therapy (ART) protocols to mitigate immune-compromising effects of the disease and therapy.
