Abstract

This article investigates the stylistic device of anadiplosis in compound sentences across languages with differing grammatical and syntactic systems. Anadiplosis, the repetition of the final word or phrase of one clause at the beginning of the next, serves as a key tool for creating cohesion, emphasis, and rhetorical rhythm in both literary and spoken discourse. The study examines how languages with distinct structural typologies such as analytic and synthetic systems realize anadiplosis, analyzing variations in frequency, placement, and semantic function. Through a comparative approach, it highlights the interplay between grammatical structure and stylistic effect, showing that the syntactic characteristics of a language influence the flexibility and prominence of anadiplosis in compound sentences. The findings reveal both universal patterns and language-specific strategies, demonstrating that anadiplosis contributes not only to textual cohesion but also to the aesthetic and persuasive impact of language. This research provides insights valuable for stylistics, cross-linguistic studies, and translation, emphasizing the importance of understanding how stylistic devices operate within different linguistic frameworks.
