TERMINOLOGICAL CHARACTER OF SPORTS VOCABULARY

Possession of sports vocabulary and terminology is one of the conditions for the developing communicative competence not only for specialists on this field, but also for an ordinary native speaker. The article discusses topical issues of general sports terminology, which requires assimilation and the usage of correction. The opinions of linguists on the terminological status of sports vocabulary have been explained.
