THE USE OF MULTISPIRAL COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF OBLITERATING DISEASES OF THE ARTERIES OF THE LOWER EXTREMITIES
Abstract
Obliterative arterial disease of the lower extremities (OALD) is one of the most common forms of vascular pathology,
leading to chronic tissue ischemia, pain, and significantly increasing the risk of patient disability.
Multislice computed tomography (MSCT) is currently considered one of the most accurate, informative, and accessible methods for visualizing the vascular system.
It not only identifies the presence and degree of arterial stenosis but also allows for a detailed assessment of the extent of the lesion and collateral circulation.
The aim of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of MSCT in OAD,
as well as a comparative analysis with other imaging methods, such as duplex ultrasound (US) and traditional angiography.
