Abstract

This article analyzes the role and influence of the narrative genre in the development of students’ thinking. Narratives, as a short, concise and deeply meaningful form of folk oral art, help to develop logical thinking, understanding of cause-and-effect relationships, independent conclusions and creative thinking in students. The study highlights the methods of using narratives in the educational process, their moral and educational content and didactic opportunities for activating students’ analytical thinking. It also shows the importance of using narratives in the educational process in increasing motivation, forming aesthetic taste and instilling national and spiritual values.
