Abstract

This article examines semantic and literal approaches in interpreter and translator training, focusing on their theoretical foundations, methodological applications, and pedagogical implications. Drawing on established translation theories and empirical studies, the paper analyzes how these approaches influence translation quality, accuracy, and communicative effectiveness. The study highlights the role of semantic translation in conveying meaning and contextual nuances, while literal translation emphasizes structural fidelity to the source text. The research further explores how combining both approaches contributes to the development of professional competence in translators and interpreters. The findings are based on recognized scholarly works in translation studies and linguistics.
