Abstract

In this scientific research work, the prevalence, gender and age-related characteristics, and clinical and laboratory indicators of iron deficiency anemia (IDA) among children aged 5–17 years in Family Polyclinic No. 3 in Nukus were studied. The study included 160 children with IDA and 56 almost healthy children. The results showed a higher incidence of IDA in girls (60%) and a high prevalence in the age group of 9–12 years. Laboratory tests revealed a decrease in hemoglobin, erythrocytes, and serum iron levels.
