Abstract

This article discusses the main strategies used in translating newspaper headlines from English into Uzbek. Given the unique linguistic and stylistic features of headlines—such as brevity, metaphor, and cultural specificity—translators often face various challenges. The paper analyzes common translation methods including literal translation, adaptation, modulation, and descriptive translation. Comparative examples from English and Uzbek media are provided to illustrate how meaning, tone, and reader impact are preserved.
