MODERN TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTERACTIVE METHODS IN TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES

The subject of the study is the methodology of teaching a foreign language as a means of activating the cognitive activity of students, as well as developing their creative and intellectual abilities. The interactive method of teaching is considered as a form of cognitive activity reflecting the current phenomena of modern reality. The main attention is paid to the methodology of conducting classes using such an interactive teaching method as a language game, in order to develop the lexical, grammatical and phonetic competence of students. Various interpretations of the concept of "language game" were compiled on the basis of modern scientific literature. Several levels of understanding of the language game and translation are analyzed, including the following: word-formation, idiomatic and phonetic. Methodological recommendations for the use of a language game as an interactive teaching method are proposed.
